I’ve noticed a trend recently among many of my customers, and I can’t believe I didn’t notice this sooner. I’ve had three customers in particular reach out because they’ve broken their anklets! NOT cool when we’re driving head-on into anklet season.

But honestly? For this girl, anklet season is year-round. #iykyk

I digress…

Let’s really talk about why this is happening.

First, did you know that your ankle is capable of moving in six primary directions? Further, it really is only capable of one direction at a time, but those movements vary depending on your own range of motion.

I’ll bet you’re saying, “Ok Marcia, seriously… what does this have to do with my anklet breaking? Get to the point already!”

Anklets can come in many different lengths. In particular, the anklets I’m able to offer are usually a 9.5″ length. As someone who wears an anklet year-round, with socks, without socks, in boots, shoes, flip-flops, while gardening, working out (lol), swimming, showering… anytime and anywhere… I have NEVER broken an anklet as long as I…

Ok friends, back to our anatomy lesson.

Think about how your ankle moves throughout your day. If you have a tight anklet being forced to move with every step, bend, stretch, and twist, of course it’s going to break. There’s a lot of pressure being placed on an anklet during your natural movement.

Now, you may say to yourself, “But Marcia, I have no choice but to wear my anklet tight because the full 9.5″ length fits snug around my ankle.”
